Resumen

This study aimed to compare the Procedural Tactical Knowledge (PTK) of U-17 male soccer players related with the playing position. Procedural Tactical Knowledge Test (TCTP) was used to assess the PTK of eighteen soccer players: six defenders, six midfielders and six forward. The test was recorded and all the scenes were analyzed based on the attacking and defensing actions. Chi-square test was used to compare the proportions between players of different playing position. Results have showed no differences between the three playing positions. The assessment based on general and operational principles were not enough to reveal the game specificities related with the playing position, as was appointed in other studies. We conclude that there is no evidence of significant difference on the tactical behavior between defenders, midfielders and forwards soccer players, assessed through TCTP.
