LAS DIRECTRICES CURRICULARES PARA LA EDUCACIÓN SECUNDARIA Y LA ENSEÑANZA DE LA QUÍMICA EN LA FORMACIÓN DEL CIUDADANO

Abstract
The present work deals with studies and discussions about Teaching Chemistry in Basic Education through a general context, retaking the conceptions of some authors as Chassot (2006), Santos and Schnetzler (2003), Maldaner (2003), Mendes Sobrinho (2006) And others, on the role of the teacher and the challenges in Chemistry Teaching, and the current concern is to provide a Chemistry Education to train a citizen, teaching the students the necessary chemical knowledge for their effective participation in society and at work. Finally, the teaching of chemistry that contemplates training the individual for the exercise of citizenship, should be based on the interrelation between chemical knowledge and the social context in which the individual is inserted, so that the citizen participates actively in society, understanding the importance of this science for social and technological development.
